Evelyn C. “Jeanne” Harris, 87, of Stephens City, Virginia passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020, at StoneSprings Hospital Center in Dulles, Virginia.
Mrs. Harris was born in 1932 in Washington, DC, daughter of the late Alexander and Mabel Cornett. She was a graduate of Washington and Lee High School and worked many years as a bookkeeper. Mrs. Harris was past president of Autumn Glen Homeowner’s Association. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, crafts, but most of all, treasured time with her family. Many may not know this, but she was a balloon artist and performed at Camden Yards in Baltimore as Clickety Clack the Clown.
She married Raymond C. Harris, Jr. on August 31, 1951 in Arlington, Virginia.
Surviving with her husband are daughters, Terri Harris of Winterville, North Carolina, Laurie Harris of Greenville, North Carolina, and Cindy Forse of Stephenson, Virginia; grandchildren, Justin, LaRissa, Brian, Lindsay and Shelby; seven great grandchildren; brother, Jim Cornett of Nipoma, California; in-laws, Gloria Housley, Edith Carol and George Metcalf; and many loving nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her beloved Corgi, Monty.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 am on Saturday, February 1st, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
