Eva L. DeHaven
Eva Louise Clem DeHaven, 92 of Frederick County, Virginia, died Sunday, July 15, 2012, in her home.
Mrs. DeHaven was born in 1920, in Frederick County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Rebecca Clem. She was a self-employed Electrician and formerly worked for Forecast Furniture Company in the sewing and stuffing department. Eva was a devoted member of Burnt Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school and was awarded for her perfect attendance for over 46 years. She was passionate about her family, and enjoyed cooking, sewing and crafts of all kinds. She will be greatly missed by all her knew her.
She married Charles C. DeHaven on December 24, 1937, in Hagerstown, Maryland. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1992.
Surviving are two daughters, Warnetia Louise Barlow of Gainesville, Virginia, Janie Strother and husband, Harrison, of Gore, Virginia; son, Roger Ray DeHaven and wife, Esther, of Adkins, Texas; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Eva was one of eleven children and was preceded in death by four sisters, Irene Pierce, Cora Smith, Nina Clark and Dora Graves, six brothers, Edward, Ernest, Richard, Jerry, Cecil and Earl Clem; as well as one son-in-law, James Barlow, Sr.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, at Omps Funeral Home., Amherst Chapel, with Reverend Patrick Lanaghan officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
