Ernest William Rudolph

Ernest William Rudolph, age 73, of Winchester, Virginia, died Saturday, March 3, 2012, in Winchester Medical Center.

Mr. Rudolph was born in 1938, in Leetown, West Virginia, the son of the late Bentley and Martha Rudolph. Ernie was a graduate of Charles Town High School, class of 1956. He was a manager of the Receiving Department at Doubleday prior to his retirement in October, 2000. He was a founding member of the Liberty Christian Fellowship as well as the founder of Summit Point Baseball Youth League.

He was married to his beloved wife of over 52 years, Joyce Jenkins, on May 29, 1960, in Summit Point, West Virginia.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, William Mark Rudolph and wife, Mary and Ernest Paul Rudolph and wife, Meridith, all of Winchester, Virginia, and John Bentley Rudolph and wife, Melissa of Hampstead, Maryland; eleven grandchildren, Melanie Beaudin and her husband Chris of Winchester, Stephanie, Jacob, Madison, Josh, Kate and Ben Rudolph all of Winchester, and Annika, Asher, Marley and Lydia Rudolph of Hampstead, Maryland; one great grandchild, Caden Beaudin of Winchester.

A sister, Zenith Johnson, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Ranson Civic Center, Ranson, West Virginia with the Reverend Dr. Melissa Rudolph officiating.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Memorial United Methodist Church, Summit Point, West Virginia.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Summit Point Baseball League, P. O. Box 974, Charles Town, WV 25414.
