Eric J. “E.J.” Schaffer (MSgt – Ret USAF)
Eric John “E.J.” Schaffer, 47, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Monday, October 15, 2012, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Schaffer was born in Napolean, Michigan, the son of Karen Schaffer and the late John Edward Schaffer. He was a Veteran having served in the United States Air Force during Desert Storm, retiring in 2004 after 21 years of meritorious service. He was an Intel Analyst with BAE Systems as a government contractor. EJ was a member of Winchester Elk Lodge #867.
He married Diana Taylor on August 6, 1988, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Surviving with his mother of Adrian, Michigan, and wife, is his daughter, Cady L. Schaffer of Winchester, Virginia; son, Senior Airman Cameron J. Schaffer USAF of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two step-sons, Jerry W. Inman of Garland, Texas and Joshua C. Inman of Winchester, Virginia; five step-grandchildren, Allie, Jacob and Lorelei Inman, Dakota Speights and Madison Inman; sister, Terri Ennett and husband, James, of Dundee, Michigan and one niece and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Doris Schaffer.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, prior to the service, from 1:00-3:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Thursday, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Pastor Doug Frazier officiating. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
