Emma Pearl Swatman
Emma Pearl Swatman, age 68, of Frederick County,
Virginia, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, surrounded by her
children and family.
Ms. Swatman was born in 1941, in Rosesiding, Pike
County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Leonard and
Myrtle Hatfield. She was a homemaker and a christian educator.
She attended the Appalachian Bible University in
Beckley, West Virginia. She was a member of Amissville
Baptist Church, Amissville, Virginia.
Surviving is a daughter, Emma Lou Swatman and
partner, Melanie A. Zinger of Ashburn, Virginia; a son,
Joshua Paul Thomas Swatman and wife, Carrie L. Naramore
of Winchester, Virginia; one grandchild, William Anderson
Swatman; three sisters, Gladys Sue Hatfield Gudgel of
Colorado, Ruth Marie Hatfield Hall of Pennsylvania, and
Linda Lou Hatfield of Alexandria, Virginia; and two brothers,
William Johnson Hatfield of Indiana, and Leonard E.
Hatfield of Colorado. She is preceded in death by a sister,
Mary Alice Hatfield Moran.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on
April 10, 2010 at Amissville United Methodist Church in
Amissville, Virginia, with Reverend Steve Parker officiating.
Interment will be private.
