Emily Grove Grim
Emily Grove Grim, 88, of Winchester, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at Spring Arbor of Winchester.
Mrs. Grim was born in1922 in Frederick County, Virginia, at her home on Middle Road. She was the daughter of William A. and Beulah R. Grove. A brother, William M. Grove, preceded her in death in December 1958. She was a graduate of Handley High School, Class of 1940.
Mrs. Grim was married in 1956 to Charles Hardy Grim who preceded her in death in 1989.
She is survived by two nieces and their husbands, Sharon G. Kelly and Hershell Kelly and Linda G. Millman and Jim Millman. She is also survived by one grand-niece, Ginger G. Strosnider and her husband, Mike, and one grand-nephew, Jeffrey W. Kelly.
She had a great love of the country life and working in her gardens. She had beautiful flowers and had quite an assortment of plants and roses in her gardens. Her love of animals was unsurpassed, and she never met a stray that she didn’t try to help to live a better life. Her devotion to help to control the feline population was ever present.
The family would like to thank and express our sincere gratitude to Blue Ridge Hospice, the local Alzheimer’s Association, and especially to the staff of Spring Arbor of Winchester, where she received diligent and loving care.
The family will receive friends at Omps Funeral Home – Amherst Chapel on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Mt. Hebron Cemetery on Monday at 11:00 a.m.
