Emily Frances Lunde, 21, a student and employee of Capstone Logistics, died May 1, 2017 at her home in Middletown, Virginia. The cause of death was cancer said her mother, Helen E. Whitehorne Lunde.
Emily was born in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1996. She was a graduate of Sherando High School, Class of 2014 and attended Lord Fairfax Community College pursuing a degree in education, her goal was to be a teacher and instruct English as a Second Language (ESL). Fluent in Spanish, Emily had been employed at Capstone Logistics. She was an accomplished poet and actress; a gifted writer who wrote a full play that was performed by Wayside Theatre when she was younger as well as participated in theatre at Lord Fairfax Community College. Emily was a Lance Corporal with the Colonel Wesley Fox Unit of the Young Marines. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Middletown, Virginia. Her faith led her to be very active in her church and the youth group there, to include participation many times with Impact Richmond. Surviving with her mother are sisters, Eleanor “Ellen”, Catherine “Cate”, Avery Lunde and brother, Joseph Lunde all of Middletown, Virginia; grandfather, Joseph Whitehorne of Cedarville, Virginia; aunt and uncle, Frances and Eric Story of Nokesville, Virginia; cousins, Carrington Story and Margaret “Maggie” Story of Nokesville, Virginia; and uncle, James Whitehorne of Washington, D.C.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 13th, with a reception to follow, at Grace United Methodist Church, Middletown, Virginia with Reverend Clay Knick officiating. A private interment will be at a later date in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Middletown, Virginia.
