Elsie Lee Rinker, 87, of Winchester, Virginia passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center.
Ms. Rinker was born in 1929 in Middletown, Virginia, the daughter of the late Luella S. and Harry B. Rinker, Sr. She graduated from Stephens City High School, Class of 1947. Her past employment included Acme Food Store, Novick Transfer, Hemmingway Transfer, and retired from Red Star Trucking. Ms. Rinker was a member of Burnt Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school for 15 years. She was a member of the Winchester Volunteer Rescue Squad Auxiliary and Winchester Moose Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking, cooking, putting puzzles together, and was a caregiver to her own mother.
Surviving is sister, Jean R. Taylor of Winchester, Virginia; brothers, Harry Rinker, Jr. (Ruth) of Winchester, Virginia, Jacob E. Rinker (Arvilla) of Winchester, Virginia; sister-in-law, Alice Rinker of Winchester, Virginia; nephew, Dr. H. Bruce Rinker, III and nieces, Angela, Donna, Diane, Tonya.
Ms. Rinker was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Kenneth R. Rinker.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, 1260 Front Royal Pike, Winchester, VA. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Alan Morrison officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, Virginia.
