Ellen C. Phillips

Ellen Catherine Bergen Phillips, 72, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Thursday, December 2, 2010, in her home.

Mrs. Phillips was born in Brooklyn, New York. She was a homemaker and a mother. Mrs. Phillips was of the Catholic faith.

Her husband, Gordon Phillips whom she married 50 years ago, in Highland Falls, New York, preceded her in death on September 1, 2009.

Surviving are three daughters, Mary Vangel and her husband, Jimmy, Audrey Smith, Gail Metts and her husband, Bryan; four grandchildren, Stephen Knight, Daniel Knight, Mia Smith and Bennett Metts; three sisters, Marcy Erocoloni, Carol Castellano, Tina Lomsky; and two brothers, James Bergen and Arthur Bergen.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Sunday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Father Michael Dobbins officiating. Interment will be in Timber Ridge Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Cross Junction, Virginia.

The family will receive friends on Sunday prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 PM.
