Ella Lee Robinson Cooke, 93, of Frederick County, Virginia, passed away on November 24, 2018, in Winchester Medical Center.

Mrs. Cooke was born in 1925, in Frederick County, Virginia, the daughter of Esther and Curtis Robinson. She retired from National Fruit in 1988 after 34 years of service. Mrs. Cooke was of the Methodist faith.

Mrs. Cooke loved to cook. She baked pies, cakes, and made soup for yard parties at local churches and Clear Brook Volunteer Fire Department. Everyone remembers her Christmas Eve get-togethers, the Sunday family dinners at her home and family picnics in the summertime. Mrs. Cooke enjoyed canning and preserving vegetables, raising farm animals, and milking cows. She was a member of a very close knit family, even to reach out to relatives who were out of town to console, help or just be with them.

Her husband, Charles Ray Cook, whom she married on April 13, 1943, in Winchester, Virginia, preceded her in death on December 4, 2007.

Surviving is her daughter, Faye Elaine Lanham; sons, Michael O. Cook (Betty L.); Ronald Ray Cooke (Linda); daughter-in-law, Betty Cooke; son-in-law, Victor Haines; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 6 great, great grandchildren; sisters, Anna Wymer, Betty Shifflett, Mary Welch; brothers, Jack Robinson, Thomas Robinson, Curtis Robinson, Jr., and Douglas Robinson.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Sue Haines; son, Charles Anthony Cooke; sisters, Nancy Oats, Janie Corbin, Bonnie Robinson; brothers, Donald, John, Larry, Guy and Paul Robinson; and son-in-law, Donald H,. Lanham, Sr.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Reverend Charles W. Franks officiating. Interment will be in Old Stone Cemetery, White Hall, Virginia.

Pallbearers will be Robby Elliott, Charlie Cook, Gregory Cook, Mark Cook, Joey Cook, Tommy Cooke and Steven Cooke. Donnie Lanham and Randy Haines will serve as honorary pallbearers.
