Elise Austin

        Elise Austin, 64, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at home.

Mrs. Austin was born in 1949, in Dudelange, Luxembourg, the daughter of the late Marcel and Juliette Reiff-Arend.  She took great pride in being a homemaker and raising her two sons. She also registered disaster victims with FEMA, and made sure they got the assistance they needed. She retired from FEMA in 2011.  Mrs. Austin was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Winchester.

She married Elbert Delane Austin on October 9, 1971, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.  He preceded her in death on September 25, 2010.

Surviving are her sons, Samuel Elbert Austin of Alexandria, Virginia, Thomas Brian Austin and wife, Amy, of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Laura and Noah Austin; and one brother, Pierre Reiff of Luxembourg.  Four brothers preceded her in death.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 10, 2013, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Michael Dobbins officiating.  Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Her family would like to thank all for her friends for their support and also the help that she received from every one at Care Connections and the Village at Orchard Ridge.
