Evelyn R. Wilson

Evelyn R. Wilson, 79, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010, in a local nursing facility following a long illness with Parkinson’s disease.

She was born in 1930, in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late Eve and Maynard Rogers. Mrs. Wilson was a graduate of Handley High School, and retired from Earl Mason Insurance Company. She was a member of First Christian Church, the Ray Blosser Sunday School Class and was a Deaconess Emeritus.

She married Reginald B. Wilson on April 27, 1950, in Winchester, Virginia.

Surviving with her husband are her sons, John E. Wilson, Thomas L. Wilson, Three Grandchildren, Trevor Saleena and Spencer Wilson and her sister, Mary R. Jenkins and her husband Robert, all of Winchester.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Rob Lovett officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
