Edwin E. Fiddler

Edwin Earl Fiddler, 70 of Stephenson, Virignia died Saturday, April 21, 2012 at his home.

Mr. Fiddler was born in 1941 in Stephenson, Virginia the son of the late Earl William and Joy Lee Fiddler. He was retired from Emmart Oil Company in Winchester. Mr. Fiddler was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church.

Surviving is his sister, Jean F. Streit of Mechanicsville, Virginia; nephew, Kevin T. Streit and wife, Edna, of Mechanicsville; great nephews, E. Byron P. Streit and J. Gabriel Panti; uncle, Blair Webber and wife, Betty, aunt, Mary Jane Ewing and husband, Lewis, all of Winchester; his best friend, Bonnie Combs and many cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Reverend James Smith officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael A. Ewing, John R. Heflin, Leo Clowser, John Smallwood, Robert Law and Steven Marcus.

The family will receive friends on Saturday prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 2732 Martinsburg Pike, Stephenson, Virginia 22656.

I never walked past Edwin without him reaching out and shaking my hand or giving me a hug. When he asked me how I was doing, he made eye contact and listened to my reply as if he had all the time in the world. He made me feel welcome at church--even special. He was the same way with my kids. I will miss him very much.
