I seek and find the state of being where the grace and beauty of all life is known.
In this way is my heart filled and at peace.

Edward Dean “Buddy” Duehring, Jr. peacefully passed away at the Winchester Rescue Mission on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, surrounded by his rescue mission family. After being diagnosed with untreatable brain cancer, Buddy was brought back to the Winchester Rescue Mission where he could be surrounded by residents and staff who loved and cared for him deeply.
Buddy was born on November 22, 1949 in Washington, DC to the late Edward Dean Duehring, Sr. and Ruth Lois Beavers Duehring. He was a long-haul truck driver throughout his life and loved being on the road, hauling loads from coast to coast. He was an expert at navigation and knew how to master driving through all types of extreme weather to deliver his load on time, and never took no for an answer when dealing with the harshest of weather. He enjoyed riding “Blue”, his infamous blue Road King, which he mastered on the road without fourth gear and even after having had a stroke. He enjoyed listening to Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash and was a fanatic about spreading his moral philosophy, life lessons, and reasoning through extended lectures and fist-pounding “emphasis”. We will miss our dear friend, and like Buddy always said, AMF…
Buddy is survived by a brother, Ronald Duehring (Cindy), nephews Ronald Duehring, II (Toni), Dan Duehring (Jennifer), and James Duehring (Patricia), nieces Michele Smith (Aaron), Maria Miree (Jamel), and Rosa Eaton (Trenton), many great nieces and nephews, and his Winchester Rescue Mission family. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Rosalyn Herrera and her husband Wilson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 6, 2020, at 11:00am at The Winchester Rescue Mission at 435 N Cameron Street, Winchester, VA, with a cookout lunch following the service. COVID-19 guidelines will be in place.
