Edward Allen “Big Al” Hott, 53, of Winchester, Virginia passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.
Big Al was born in 1964 in Winchester, Virginia, the son of Clarence Edward Swartz, Jr. and the late Alice Catherine Hott. He attended James Wood High School and was a maintenance worker. Big Al was a diehard Redskins fan, a Yankees fan, and a Clemson Tigers fan. He enjoyed NASCAR, being a Tony “Smoke” Stewart fan.
Surviving with his father is companion and best friend, Penny Sams of Winchester, Virginia; sons, Branden Hott of Winchester, Virginia and Derek Hott of Bangor, Maine; grandchildren, Cameron A. “Tadpole” Hott and Donavan “Bootsie” Tibbs, both of Winchester, Virginia; sister, Donna K. Swartz of Stephens City, Virginia; and nephew, Chris A. Swartz of Winchester, Virginia.
Along with his mother he was preceded in death by grandmother, Mary Thomas and grandparents, Edward and Mae Swartz.
A very special appreciation goes out to Sue Bowers, Roy Swartz, Ann Mauck, and the Eagles Club #824 because of all their hard work to make Allen’s service possible.
A last, specific request from Allen…casual dress for the service…NO SUITS!
A gathering of family and friends will be from 10 am to 11 am on Saturday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 11 am with Pastor Mike Mayton officiating. Interment will be in Grange Hall Cemetery, Frederick County, Virginia.
