Edna Nanette Reel Evans, 79, of Frederick County, Virginia died Sunday, November 8, 2009 in Winchester Medical Center.

Mrs. Evans was born in 1930 in Dorcas, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Copher B. and Erma J. Reel. She was an office manager with VBS Inc. in Winchester, retiring in 1991. She was instrumental in Material Handling Businesses and was previously employed by Haight Engineering Company. Mrs. Evans was a member of Sunnyside Presbyterian and a founding member of Sunnyside Neighborhood Watch.

Her husband, Laurence Dale Evans, Sr. whom she married on November 11, 1950, in Winchester, Virginia, preceded her in death in 1989.

Surviving is her daughter, Linda Darnell Evans Shepherd of Stephens City, Virginia; three sons, Lawrence Dale Evans Jr. of Frederick County, Virginia, Randy L. Evans of Stephenson, Virginia, Steven Francis Evans of Middletown, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Lawrence Dale Evans III of Atlanta Georgia, Tiffany Lane Saville of Frederick County, Virginia, Corey L. Evans of Middletown, Virginia, Della Mae Shepherd of Stephens City, Virginia, Kristen Combs of Middletown, Virginia, James Skillman and Belinda Saville; five great grandchildren; three sisters Freda, Virginia, Dixie, and two brothers, Bobby and Bill.

One brother, Jim, preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Reverend Steve Melester officiating. Interment will be private.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
