Edna K. Cate, 67, of Winchester, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 9, 2017.
Mrs. Cate was born January 15, 1950 in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late Charles and Helen Willis. She was employed by Handy Mart on Rt. 50 and Elks Lodge. Edna was a member of Elks 867, Eagles 824, and Moose 1367. She enjoyed working in the yard with flowers and her greatest passion was spending time with family. Edna was a special person and touched the hearts of many. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother….she will be truly missed.
Mrs. Cate married Nathan D. Cate on January 11, 1992 in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving is her beloved husband, Nathan; daughters, Sheila Marks of Winchester, Virginia, Tracey Shotwell (Eddie) of Mechanicsville, Maryland, Christy Armel (Melvin) of Winchester, Virginia and Mickie Bly of Winchester, Virginia; stepsons, Nathan Cate, II of Wilmington, North Carolina, Eric Anglin of Hoxie, Arkansas, and Ricky McKee of Winchester, Virginia; sister, Charlotte Ramey (Terry) of Winchester, Virginia; brothers, Billy Willis (Diane) and Jimmy Harmon both of Winchester, Virginia; grandchildren, Jade Sager, Corey Bly (fiancé, Akila Scott), Morgan and Sarah Hill, and Madison Shotwell; great grandchildren, Alana Jefferson and Madison Weigand; three step grandchildren.
Mrs. Cate was preceded in death by her parents and grandchild, Bradley Bly.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Boyce Cate officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum, Winchester, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Carver, Corey Bly, Jeff Gochenour, Eddie Shotwell, Ricky McKee, Teddy Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Oates and Buzz Sandy.
