Earl W. “Ike” Iser
Earl William “Ike” Iser, 81, of Frederick County, Virginia, went to be with the Lord after his courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Iser was born in 1932, in Augusta, West Virginia, the son of the late Hazel I. Iser. He was a boiler technician with National Fruit, retiring on April 30, 1994. Mr. Iser was a member of Woodbine Assembly of God in Clear Brook, Virginia. His favorite pastimes included talking to his CB radio friends and riding in the mountains.
He married Hazel V. Shanholtz on August 4, 1950, in Cumberland, Maryland.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Linda Jewell and husband, Wayne, Joyce Smelser and husband, Ralph, all of Winchester, Alice Lark and husband, Richard, of Augusta, West Virginia; son, David Iser and wife, Sherri, of Gore, Virginia; eleven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, from 2:00-4:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Reverend Louis Whitford, III, officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Frederick County, Virginia.
