My condolences on your loss. I met your dad on one of the first days of my freshman year at the University of Illinois. We lived at the same dorm complex. He was kind, intelligent, fun, and a wonderful human being. We had a couple of introductory general science classes together. Before he met your mom, knowing his early loss, I invited him to go to dinner with my family for parents' weekend. Of course everyone, including my two-year-old sister adored him. I also knew your mom as a sweet and kind person. They were made for one another. I am so sorry to hear of his death.

Upon learning of Dwight's passing, sadness was my first reaction... We were both in the York Senior Choir.... and while in the choir, spent quality time with the Boy's quarter and the mixed octet.... Dwight was "the quiet one", but when he spoke it was worth the listen and sometimes, the following laugh.... I thought many time after graduation that it was a shame that we had never became good friends... I think it would have been a good friendship, indeed... Rest in peace Mr. Mey.....

I first met Dwight at York High, at a time when he and his brother were struggling to stay together after the loss of their parents in an accident. We sang together in Mr. Witmer’s choir. We reconnected at the York 55th reunion, shortly after his loss of his beloved Annette. Since then we have been correspondents. I had so much looked forward to seeing him at the next class reunion. Dwight was a skilled and creative architect of words, both written and spoken. He seemed to have a near-ecstatic appreciation of details and their harmonious interaction. His Christmas letters were masterpieces. Maggie and Marcy, from our world’s perspective, it is never a good time to lose a loved one; I have every confidence that in Dwight’s new world, at the building of the new heaven and new earth, his arrival will be right on time.

I was Mr Mey’s hygienist and always enjoyed seeing him on my schedule. He was someone I wish I had 2 hour appointments with instead of 1 because we always had such great conversation. I, along with many of my Coworkers, will miss seeing him. He definitely made an impact on my life. Anyone who knew Mr Mey is a lucky person, and I’m thankful I’m one of them! Thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.
