Drew Allen Donald, 46, of Stephens City, Virginia died Monday, October 24, 2016 at Winchester Medical Center.
Drew was born in 1970 in Winchester, Virginia, the son of Leroy and Rebecca Donald. He graduated from Ooltewah High School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Class of 1988 and Lake City Community College in Lake City, Florida having studied Agronomy. Drew’s greatest passion was playing the guitar (electric and acoustic) and played in different bands over the years. His all-time favorite band was Metallica. He enjoyed attending concerts, fishing, camping, cooking and BBQ’ing…just being outdoors. Drew took a liking to older cars and owned a 1967 GTO. He was very close and competitive with his twin brother, Eric. He was very talented with mechanical drawing for which he earned a scholarship in Orange Park, Florida. Friendships were important to Drew and he always kept in contact with his friends from Florida and Chattanooga, Tennessee. Drew was employed at Blue Ridge Shadows as a Golf Course Technician.
Surviving with his parents are brother, Eric C. Donald; uncles, Steve Boettner (Lueanna), Mark Boettner; aunts, Joy Racey (Paul) and Shirley VandeVisser; and numerous cousins.
Drew was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, John L. and Grace Boettner; paternal grandparents, Delmar and Delores Donald; uncles, John L. Boettner, Jr. and Larry VandeVisser; and his four legged companion, Doc.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. A graveside service will follow the visitation at Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester, Virginia.
