I thought the world of Dr. Morris, He gave me a chance to teach mathematics as an adjunct professor at my alma mater and for that I am most appreciative. He was a great friend. We traveled to math conventions in West Virginia and had a great time. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I considered him a mathematical genius. My sympathy to his wife and family. He was a great person and had the respect of all who knew him. W.H.S. White III

I am very sorry for your loss. Dr. Peter Morris was one of my favorite math professors at Shepherd (College) University back in 1977-78. He was an outstanding teacher/professor; making sure that we all understood each concept. He was gentle, kind, and his smile lighted reassured us that we would be successful. Dr. Morris and his wife also provided an opportunity for me to earn extra money by trusting me with the care of their sons while they were attending college and/or social events in the community. I treated their sons like family and they welcomed me into their lives with open arms. I have not connected with the family for many years; however, I am sorry that I did not connect as an adult. It is times like these that make our memories unforgettable and goes to show that you never know who will impact your life.

I was fortunate to meet Dr. and Mrs. Peter Morris several years ago. Dr. Morris' smile and twinkling blue eyes expressed kindness, intelligence and serenity. The love between Dr. Morris and his wife, Sharon, was palpable and the patience, consideration and respect Mrs. Morris always showed him was exquisite in it's tenderness and a brilliant lesson in unconditional love. I am grateful to have met them both and send prayers for comfort and healing to Mrs. Morris and their family.

I served on the Faculty Senate with Peter Morris and had the opportunity to share our experiences at Shepherd for several years before his retirement. Peter lived and worked in this mundane academic world but his mind was always someplace else someplace far more complex then the world I understood. He always struck me as a gentle soul, who just wanted the best for his students and colleagues and wasn’t always confident about how to achieve that. A humble person striving for something better for us all. I hope his family will have many stories to share and remember to help Peter live in their hearts and minds.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

Sharon and Peter have been my next door neighbors for six years, this month. It has always been a pleasure to see them, whether just walking to the mailbox or having dinner in the Pub at Orchard Ridge. My sympathies to Sharon and all of their family.

When we think of Peter, We are reminded first of his smile. We have been blessed to have known him and Sharon here at the Village but also while we lived near Shepherdstown. Sharon, your quiet calmness, love, and care was a great gift to him. We have such admiration for the manner in which you helped him spend his last years
