Dr. David M. Gregg, 75, of Frederick County, VA died Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Blue Ridge Residential Center.
Dr. Gregg was born in 1940, the son of the late Emory M. and Mary Ellen Gregg. Dr. Gregg was a Veterinarian for forty plus years at Berryville Animal Hospital before retiring. He graduated from University of Maryland earning a Bachelor’s Degree and achieved his Doctorate Degree from Michigan State University. He enjoyed collecting artwork, dining out (especially if there was a buffet), playing golf at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club, fishing, and traveling abroad with his wife, Anne. Dr. Gregg also was a Master Gardener, a member of Model T Club of America, and a member of Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
Dr. Gregg married Anne Katherine Zuber on June 22, 1963 in Birmingham, Michigan.
Surviving with his wife are daughters, Patricia “Patti” L. Dell and husband, Randy and Susan M. Fenner and husband, James; sons, David M. Gregg, Jr. and wife, Lyn and Samuel “Sam” T. Gregg and wife, Jen; grandchildren, Molly Scotece (Greg), Maggie Gregg, Gabrielle “Gabby” Oddo, Alexandra “Ally” Oddo, Connor Gregg, Sydney Dell, Rylee Gregg, Carley Gregg, Max Dell, Trevor Gregg and Peyton Gregg; and his brother, Dr. George “Bill” W. Gregg and wife, Jeannine.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, 1260 Front Royal Pike, Winchester, Virginia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 120 Keating Drive, Winchester, Virginia. Interment will be at a later date in Michigan.
Memorial contributions in memory of Dr. Gregg may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Suite 405, Winchester, Virginia 22601 or American Cancer Society, 1833 Plaza Drive, Winchester, Virginia 22601.

I just learned of Dr. Gregg's passing. Although I did not know Dr. Gregg for very long or as well as would have wished, I will always remember him fondly. My sincere condolences to his family. May God grant you peace and comfort until you are all reunited in His Kingdom.

One of the greatest people! Influenced me in my veterinary technician career more than he ever knew. Wish I could turn back time and tell him how often I think of him and chuckle at the memories of the "army" radiography unit he made me make a technique chart for. He taught me so much in such a short time. I am forever grateful for the chance to know him. Thoughts and prayers for Doc, Kathy and the family.
