Charlotte, you and Doug have always been in my prayers and will continue to be in them for eternity. Doug was a wonderful man. I will never forget the time we spent together going through all of Dad's things and getting his house ready for sale when he passed. Doug was amazing then and I got to see why you married him. You two were perfect for each other. Doug rode as a passenger on this Earth for 73 orbits around our Sun. Not many people get to do that. Doug was kind, gentle, and incredibly gifted. He will be with you always. I miss him. He would want you to continue to be strong as you have already been through this painful time. I love you, I miss him too, and I will pray each and every night for you.

Doug was a positive, uplifting friend. We really enjoyed our times with he and Char exploring new restaurants, sharing our lives's experiences and talking about current events. We always looked forward to his company. He was, indeed, a special person. We are so fortunate that Char brought him into our lives. We will miss him.

A husband, a father, and a really good friend. Someone who fought hard until the very end. In the night we sleep, in the day we cry. He watches over us from his new star in the sky. Doug, I didn't know you like I should have, but I know you made my Aunt Char feel special daily with your little drawings and notes. Something most women only dream of.! Thank you for showing up and treating her how every woman should be treated! You were one hell of a guy in my eyes and everyone who knew you! We will ALL miss you. Until we meet again ❤️
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

We were so saddened to learn of Doug's passing. His life indeed was one well lived, making positive impacts on generations of students and his community. We were privileged to know him, sharing many enjoyable lunches with him and Char over several years. One of us (Jack) got the opportunity to visit at his school and see first hand the rapport and mutual respect he had with his students. The STEM community benefited from his decades-long dedication. We also recognize the commitment to community volunteerism that he and Char have modeled over the years. We,'ll miss him. We hope his family finds comfort in his efforts to be a constructive presence and influence for all.

We will miss Doug very much as he was a wonderful caring and kind person. Over the past several years we enjoyed meeting Doug and Char for lunch and sharing travel stories, and grandparenthood. Jack enjoyed discussing environmental science with Doug .We had so much respect for Doug’s teaching style and interactions with his students and Jack was able to see first hand how Doug’s students responded when Jack gave a talk at Doug’s high school. May Doug’s memory be a blessing. Dawn and Jack

On a recent "date night" at an Asian restaurant, I opened my fortune cookie to find the message, "You will experience a love that knows no limits." That totally defined our love for each other! Doug, you were my hero. I love you. Charlotte
