Dorothy M. (Dottie) Fleming

Dorothy M. (Dottie) Fleming, 89, of Winchester died Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Shenandoah Valley Westminster Canterbury in Winchester, Virginia.

Dottie was born May 14, 1927 in Keyser, West Virginia, the daughter of Ralph E. Fleming and Esther Timbrook Romick.

She was retired from J.V. Arthur, Inc. where she was executive secretary for C. Ridgely White, Sr. She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Winchester, Virginia. Before her illness, she was active in the Fellowship of Christian Women. She was a past member of Pilot Club International, Women of the Moose and Shawnee Bowman. During her tenure at The Pentagon, she began volunteering when she joined the USO and later volunteered at the Free Medical Clinic and the Jubilee Kitchen.

She is survived by several cousins.

A funeral service will be held at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 75 Merrimans Lane, Winchester, Virginia, on Wednesday, December 7, at 11:00 am with Rev. Joan Rainsberger officiating and assisted by Aaron Tinsman, Associate Pastor. Burial will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lon Seward, Rob Sutphin, Russ Edwards, R.V. Kave, Ed Hill and Aaron Tinsman.

Friends will be received at First Christian Church, Merrimans Lane, on Wednesday at 10:00 am, one hour prior to the service.
