Dorothy “Dot” L. Vance
Dorothy “Dot” Lea Mallow Vance, 70, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, in her home.
Mrs. Vance was born in 1942, in Cabins, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Delmer and Laura R. Mallow. Dot was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was devoted to helping others and enjoyed working as a dedicated seamstress; as well as in food service at both James Wood High School and Shenandoah University. In her spare time she enjoyed many crafts including crocheting, knitting, jig saw puzzles and word finds.
She married the love of her life Woodrow Allen Vance on November 16, 1959, in Cumberland, Maryland.
Surviving with her husband of 52 years, are 2 daughters, Ramonda Perry and husband, Joseph, of Front Royal, Pamela Booher and fiancé, George Estelle, of Pemberton, New Jersey, son, Mark Vance and wife, Jody, of Winchester, 7 grandchildren, Christopher, Emily, Josh, Jake, Brittany, Stephanie and Markayla; 3 great grandchildren; one sister; 5 brothers, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Friday, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Brother Dayton Lewis officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
