Dorothy “Dot” Helena (Broy) Fletcher, 92, a resident of Spring Arbor in Winchester passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023.

Ms. Fletcher was born in 1931 in Mt. Jackson, VA, daughter of the late William and Lottie Broy.  She earned a nursing degree through Winchester Memorial Hospital’s diploma program.  Becoming a nurse defined who Dot really was, her career meant so very much to her.  Ms. Fletcher worked and retired from Mt. Weather after 40 years of service.  She was a member of NARF, Mended Hearts, and Burnt Presbyterian Church.  Ms. Fletcher enjoyed reading, working outside in her garden, traveling, loved her cats and sharing a cup of coffee with anyone.

Her husband, John Leroy Fletcher, Sr., whom she married on November 4, 1954, preceded her in death in 2012.

Surviving is a daughter, Laura Geisen (Billy) of Chantilly, VA; son, John L. Fletcher, Jr. (Kathy) of Cross Junction, VA; grandchildren, Megan Westenmeyer, Mike Fletcher, and Bridget Geisen; great grandchildren, Tanner and Parker Fletcher, Colin and Grant Westenmeyer.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

And her kind reminder to all…..“no one calls me Dorothy, everyone calls me Dot!”

A visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm on Thursday, December 7, 2023, with a service to follow at 1 pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.  Interment will be private.
