Dorothy Marie “Dot” Davis Holleran, 97, of Frederick County, Virginia died Wednesday, September 16, 2015, in Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center.

         Mrs. Holleran was born in 1918, in Yellow Spring, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Carson and Gladys Davis.  She was a homemaker and a member of St. James Catholic Church in Falls Church, Virginia.  In her earlier years Mrs. Holleran enjoyed bowling and playing bridge.

         Her husband, John J. Holleran, whom she married in 1950, preceded her in death in 1992.

         Surviving are her sons, Dana R. Holleran and wife, Dolores, Alan B. Holleran; grandchildren, Kelly Isaacs and husband, Stephen, Christina Holleran; and her sister, Thelma Lawyer.

         Two sisters, Opal Lee, Charlotte Davis and two brothers, Carson Frank Davis and Forrest Davis, preceded her in death.

         The family will receive friends on Monday, from 7:00-9:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, and on Tuesday, from 1:00-2:00 PM, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Winchester, Virginia.

         A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, with Father Eric L. Shafer officiating. A reception will follow the Mass at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

         Interment will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM, at National Memorial Park, Falls Church, Virginia.

         In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
