Doris Eleanor McGee Kramer Wheeler
Doris Eleanor (McGee) Kramer Wheeler, 81, of Strasburg, Virginia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 16, 2012, in Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.
Mrs. Wheeler was born in 1930, in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of the late Marshall and Mary McGee. She was homemaker and attended Shenandoah Valley Baptist Church. She worked at Papermill Place, Amherst Diner and also worked as a sitter at Westminster Canterbury. She formerly owned and operated White Post Grocery.
Her husband, Duane Edward “Bud” Wheeler, preceded her in death on June 18, 2000.
Surviving is her daughter, Mary J. Alexander (Joey) of Strasburg, Virginia; a son, Wesley “Wes” Kramer (Pam) of Albert Lea, Minnesota; a cousin Carolyn Schweikart, Towson, MD.; step-daughter, Jane Ann Kramer of Chicago, Illinois; three step-sons; Harold G. Wheeler and Michael E. Wheeler of Florida and Robert A. Wheeler of Arlington, Virginia; two grandchildren, Jacqueline Puglisi and Wesley Kramer, Jr..
A Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Shenandoah Memorial Park with Reverend Eric G. Farel officiating.
The family will receive friend on Friday, February 17, 2012 from 6 to 8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
