Donovan Larry “Donnie” Ruble, 62, of Winchester, Virginia, died Thursday, December 10, 2009, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Ruble was born in 1947, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Alvin Lee and Martha L. Ruble. He was employed by Applied Industrial Technologies, Inside Sales, in Winchester for twenty eight years and finished twenty-one years with Harold Orndorff and J&H Trucking, hauling the Washington Post.
Mr. Ruble was a Veteran having served in the United States Army Reserve for six years in Martinsburg, West Virginia. He was a graduate of James Wood High School Class of 1966.
Mr. Ruble was a member of Galilee Christian Church serving as Sunday School Superintendant and teacher, Elder and Vice Chairman of the Church. He loved hunting, antiquing and auction sales with his wife. He especially enjoyed moments with his family.
He married Marie Idel Lee on April 9, 1966, at Calvary Church of the Brethren, in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife of forty-three years is his daughter, Michele Ruble Watts and her husband, Scott, of Clear Brook, Virginia; son, Bryan L. Ruble and his wife, Casey, of Winchester, Virginia; two grandchildren, Tiffany Roper and her husband, Anthony, of Clarke County, Virginia; Brittany Watts of Clear Brook, Virginia; three great grandchildren, Brayden, Landon and William Roper of Clarke County, Virginia. He is also survived by his sisters, Wanda Lowman and her husband, Robert, and Kimberly Ruble all of Winchester, Virginia; two nephews, Gregory Lowman of Poolesville, Maryland, and David Lowman of Thurmont, Maryland.
One infant brother preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday at Omps Funeral Home Amherst Chapel with Pastor Donald Moulden officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia with Military Honors accorded by VFW Post 2123.
Pallbearers will be Rick McDaniel, Scott Watts, Gordon Watts, Greg Lowman, David Lowman, and John Yasem.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Hindt, Jim Hollinger, Vernor Lutzenhiser, Dan Rainsberger, Jerry McDonald, Roy Riley, Jimmy Messick and Martin Killingbeck.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
