Donna Jane Lancaster
Donna Jane Hurt Lancaster, age 71, of Winchester, Virginia, died Thursday, May 31, 2012, in the Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Lancaster was born in Roanoke, Virginia in 1941 the daughter of the late James Harold Hurt and Mary Louise Hurt Adams. She was a graduate of William Fleming High School in Roanoke and received an Associate’s Degree in speech pathology from Dallas County Community College. Before retiring, she was employed as a travel clerk for the Army Corps of Engineers. She was a member of the Baptist faith.
Donna married Robert DeWitt Lancaster, Sr. on February 5, 1960, in Roanoke, Virginia.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Robert D. Lancaster, Jr. of Chicago, Illinois; a grandson, James Robert Cobler of Winchester, Virginia; and a sister, Jacqueline Adams Wimmer of Roanoke, Virginia. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Lea Lancaster Cobler.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor John Lewis officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Roanoke, Virginia on Wednesday at 1:00 P M.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday one hour before the service from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
