Donald “Don” Lee Fowler, 80, of Stephenson, Virginia passed away peacefully Monday, October 10, 2016 surrounded by his family, under the care of his loving daughter, Lisa.
Mr. Fowler was born in 1936 in Dunbar, West Virginia, the son of the late Virgil Alfred and Regis Lucille Fowler. Don married Annabelle Kidwell in 1958.
Don was a native of Frederick County, Virginia, worked and lived in Charlottesville, Va., & Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and retired in 2001.
Don owned Fowler Modular and Mobile Home Sales, Inc; and also developed and designed the manufactured housing community, Regency Lakes of Frederick County.
Don was a master at woodworking, and construction and lived his entire life always helping others and giving back. Don loved Tennessee, and Myrtle Beach S.C., enjoyed his boat, his pilot license and flying his planes. He also enjoyed his time traveling, fishing, working in stained glass, photography, bird feeding and everyone sought his great knowledge to fix or work on something……he was a true craftsman.
His greatest joy were his children whom he worked hard to provide for and took great pride in their accomplishments. Don was a veteran in the United States Army serving our country during the Korean conflict.
Surviving are daughters, Lisa A. Fowler and companion James R. Haines, and Donna M. Fowler; son, Gregory L. Fowler all of Frederick County, Virginia; Annabelle Fowler of Frederick County, Va., sister, Ruth Strickland of West Virginia; & five grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
