Donald Kemp Bane
Donald Kemp Bane, age 81, of Winchester, Virginia, died Tuesday, October 26, 2010, in Blue Ridge Residential Center.
Mr. Bane was born in 1929, the son of the late Charles Frederick and Madonna Elizabeth Bane. He was employed by the United States Postal Service, retiring after 36 years of service. He was of the Methodist faith. He was a veteran having served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Donald enjoyed bluegrass music, trains, his time spent working at the Post Office, the Wayside Theatre, and had donated over 10 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross.
He is survived by two daughters, Susan E. Grubbs and her husband, John of Stephens City, Virginia and Rebecca A. Meinhardt and husband, Stephen of Brandywine, Maryland; a son, Frederick W. Bane and wife, Sarah of Keyser, West Virginia; six grandchildren, one great grandchild; a sister, Lillie M. Johnson of Louisville, Kentucky; a very special niece, Penny Nader of Louisville, Kentucky and his loving companion, Eva Pitcock of Opeqoun, Virginia.
A wife, Eleanor Jean Evans Bane, preceded him in death on February 21, 2007.
All services will be private.
