Donald H. MacDonald, Jr., 93 of Winchester, VA passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Westminster Canterbury.
Mac was born in 1930 in Baltimore, MD, the son of the late Donald H. MacDonald, Sr. and Ethel (Glass) MacDonald. He was a graduate of the University of Maryland, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Mac also served our country as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1963. He worked his entire career and retired from Bendix Radio Corporation in Towson, MD as an Engineer and Marketing Manager. Mac was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Winchester. Prior to moving to Winchester he was a long time member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Glen Arm, MD. He was also a member of the St. Andrews Society of Baltimore.
He is survived by his wife Betty, whom he married on June 16, 1951; son David B. MacDonald (Jennifer) of Round Hill, VA; grandchildren, Megan M. Yuska (Peter) of Purcellville, VA, Catherine E. Doherty (Matthew Grant) of Rockville, MD, Emily E. MacDonald of Leesburg, VA , great-grandchildren Charlotte, Trent, and Abigail Yuska and son-in-law Michael Doherty of North Potomac, MD.
Mac is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Alison M. Doherty, and brother James MacDonald.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Donald on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 11am, held at the Chapel at Shenandoah Valley Westminster Canterbury in Winchester, VA.
