Donald E. McNealy, Sr.
Mr. Donald Earl McNealy, Sr., of Sharpsville, Indiana, formerly of Winchester, Virginia, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Mr. McNealy was born in 1935 in Winchester, Virginia, the son of Leelon R. and Emma McNealy. He attended Handley High School, and was a retired truck driver for McLane Distribution. He was a former trustee of Burnt Presbyterian Church, a past member of Shawnee Lions Club, was active in Boy Scouts many years ago and volunteered at C-CAP. He served as a Seaman Apprentice with the United States Navy.
He married Betty Flowers on July 12, 1956 in Winchester, Virginia. They made their home in Hagerstown, Fredericksburg, and moved back to Winchester in their retirement years. Mrs. McNealy preceded him in death on July 6, 2006. He was a very loving, devoted husband and father to children, Angela Bageant, Dianne Wright, Donald McNealy, Jr., all of Winchester, Virginia, and Mike McNealy and two grandchildren, Jessica and Christopher of Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Donald was married a second time to Sue Henderson on September 20, 2009. After their marriage, he moved to her Sharpsville, Indiana home. He shared many joys with her children, Cindy Miller, Debbie Harding, Becky Davis and 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Also surviving is a sister, Bettie Wilson of Winchester. He was preceded in death by Ray McNealy, Allen McNealy and Ruby Albin.
The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6-8 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted on Monday at 11:00 AM at Burnt Presbyterian Church with Rev. Patrick Lanaghan officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
