Dolores Ann McArtor
Dolores Ann McArtor died peacefully on Saturday afternoon, December 6, 2014, after being unable to recover from Pneumonia. She was residing at Loving Arms Assisted Living where she has lived for the past 7 years after suffering a stroke. She has enjoyed and appreciated the love and care she has received through this wonderful ministry.
Dolores Ann Martin was born on April 6, 1929 in Alexandria, Virginia
Dolores was married on September 24, 1949 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria to Walter Mac McArtor from Loudoun County, Virginia. Her husband, Walter died in 1996.
Dolores is survived by her five children, Mark S. McArtor, M. Darlene Sykes, Dawn M. Seligman, Chris M. McArtor and Dean M. McArtor. All children still live in Virginia, with their families. Dolores currently has 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Dolores was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to study the Jewish roots of Jesus and paint in oils, watercolors and china painting as well as various crafts and gardening. She was an accomplished artist and painted for over 50 years. Many pieces for her art were sold in exhibits around the Clarke County Virginia area.
Dolores and her husband also volunteered at Lord Fairfax Food Bank and the Olive Branch Food Pantry in Winchester, Virginia.
The family has chosen to have a private memorial gathering that will be at a later date.
