Delores Landacre Cooper, commonly known as Dee and Sissy, 77, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away, Sunday, January 29, 2017 at the Envoy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Cooper was born in 1939 in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late Clinton and Opal Landacre. She was a member of Hayfield Assembly of God. She was a retired Deli Manager at the A & P Grocery Store. Delores was a former Auxiliary President of Winchester Eagles Club # 824 as well as a lifelong dedicated member serving in many roles throughout the years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to so many. She will be remembered for her love of faith, family, gardening, crocheting, playing bingo and always going all out for the holidays. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by her husband, William Joseph Cooper, Jr. whom she married in Winchester, Virginia, as well as her daughter Lisa Haines, and her husband Larry, of Winchester, Virginia; her son, Tracey Cooper, and his wife Diane, of Charles Town, West Virginia, her sister, Joanne Bush, of Winchester, Virginia, three grandsons, Shawn Cooper, Matthew Haines and Joshua Leopold and seven great grandchildren as well as many extended family members and close friends.
Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her two sisters, Ruth Lemonis and Ruby Boyd, and her twin brother, Delbert “Buddy” Landacre.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Reverend Bobby Basham officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olive Cemetery.
