Delbert Lee Hinkle, 67, of Rileyville, VA, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023 quietly at home.
Delbert was born in 1956 in Ronceverte, WV, the son of the late, Robert and Glenna Hinkle. He worked as a driller for Northern Virginia Water Well Drilling and then Connelly and Associates. Delbert attended Church of the Good Shepherd. He enjoyed hunting, old 57 Chevy’s, watching western movies, mainly John Wayne and listening to country music, especially Aaron Tippen. Delbert was a collector of eagle statues and loved watching them in the wild, he also loved dogs and had a special place in his heart for Yorkies.
He is survived by his wife, Melody, whom he married on October 8, 2012; his daughter, Amy Blanton, Kayla Morris; son, Travis Lee Hinkle; grandchildren, Darren, Robert, April, Victoria, Willow, Rosie, Gabin and Piper; step-daughters, Elizabeth Williams, Carolyn Bergdoll, Amy Skeen; step-sons, James Ryder, Dean Skeen, Bobby Skeen; step-grandchildren, Blaine, Jaxon, Trey, Madison, Sydney, Logan, Emily, Evan, Ian, Evan, Kira, Serenity, Josie, and Shelby; step-great granddaughter, Savannah; sisters, Joyce Spence, Becky Hinkle; brothers, Scott Hinkle, Russell Hinkle and Doug Hinkle.
Delbert is preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, Darrell Hinkle, and brothers, Robert Hinkle and Rodger Hinkle.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Delbert on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 1pm at the family home on 211 Ikes Crossing Lane, Rileyville, VA. Officiating will be Pastor Vernon Bray.
The family asks that memorial contributions for Delbert be made to Omps Funeral Home, 1600 Amherst Street, Winchester, VA 22601 to help with funeral expenses.
