A Life Worthy of Celebrating
Debra Lee Rush-Washington was born to Wille L. Rush and Marlene E. Hooks on August 28th, 1962 in Bethesda, Maryland. Debra, affectionately known as Debbie, suddenly departed this life on July 14, 2022. Debbie grew up in Maryland where she was educated in Prince George’s County Public Schools. After graduating from Crossland High School in Temple Hills, Maryland she attended Georgetown School of Sciences and Arts and became a certified laboratory technician. Debbie enjoyed her career as a lab technician and bank teller. She enjoyed living in North Carolina for a few years where she worked as a customer service representative. Debra spent many years in Front Royal, Va. She loved the small town feel and community!!
At an early age, Debbie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord Savior. She was a member of St. Paul A.M.E Church in Winchester, Va. Debbie married her best friend Paul J. Washington in Front Royal, VA, and in 1999 they rededicated their vows in the beautiful Maui, Hawaii. And together they had Paul-Mykal Harrison Washington.
Debbie was known for her signature smile, kind heart and youthful spirit. She was a great listener and always shared her advice. Debbie prided herself in living life to the fullest. She would say “life is short so live it how you want and get the things you want”. She only accepted and purchased the best. She was a selfcare advocate and educated others on doing the same!!
Debbie loved family gatherings, traditions, traveling, watching kid shows, snacking on captain crunch and observing nature. She spent a lot of days time just admiring God’s creation. She would do absolutely anything and everything for her family.
