David Wick of Harpers Ferry, WV (1971 – 2021)
David was the heart of a loving family and will be cherished and remembered long after his passing on Saturday, November 6th, following a tragic accident near his home. His life may have been altered here on Earth, but he will remain in our hearts forever!
David was born on October 8, 1971, in Grand Forks, ND (North Dakota) to Roger and Susan (McGurran) Wick. He attended Fargo South High School and after graduation he enlisted in the Unites States Army. David carried the honorable tradition of serving in the Army’s ceremonial unit known as The Old Guard at Arlington National Cemetery where he finished his service.
David met his first wife, Michele in Alexandria, VA. Together they had three beautiful children: Brianna Marie, David Roger, Jr., and Jordan Marie.
In 2000, David met his current wife, April. They were at a softball game and as soon as he saw her, he knew he was going to marry her. As a team, they raised their three wonderful children: Zachary Thomas, Gavin Patrick, and Linzey Zane. David was passionate about being a father and was deeply involved in their very busy and full lives.
It is with the heaviest, emptiest hearts that we must accept that David has become our guardian angel! He poured his love, his heart, all his energy – over us on Earth and know that he will continue to do so! He has left us with so many meaningful messages, words of wisdom, and ingrained us with beliefs that will allow us to heal!
He is survived by his wife and children, his parents, his sisters, Kristi Ochocki (Josh), Beth Jones (Travis), and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will live on forever through his children and in our memories.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, a fund will be set up for David’s family who are not prepared for this unexpected tragedy.
