David Howard Wright, 66 of Stephens City, VA, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at his home.
David was born in 1957 in Virginia, the son of the late Roy and Frances Wright. He served our country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. David was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed playing the slot machines and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. David also enjoyed collecting NASCAR memorabilia, especially Dale Earnhardt Sr. things and taking his children fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Wright, whom he married on February 19, 2011; daughter, Julie Atkins (Scott); sons, Wayne Ames (Pam), Nicholas Ames, Patrick Wright (Maxine), Benjamin Wright, and Phillip Wright; grandchildren, Tory Atkins, Brittany Atkins and Ashlie Atkins, Hunter Ames, Victoria Ames and Braden Ames; great-grandchildren, Charles “Bear” McDonald, Mason Atkins and Michael and Willow Garrett; sister, Judy Wright Mogle and many loving nieces, nephews and other friends and family.
Along with his parents, David is preceded in death by his brother, Marty Wright.
A visitation will be held for David on Monday, April 29, 2024, at 12pm with a service to follow at 1pm held at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park. Officiating will be Rev. Paul Markee.
