David H. Gill

David Hunt Gill, age 56, of Winchester, Virginia, died Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Winchester Medical Center.

Mr. Gill was born in 1954, in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of the late Joshua Elsworth and Helen Gill. He was self employed working in antiques and furniture restoration.

He married Lisa Stowe on October 5, 1985, in Winchester, Virginia.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons, Joshua Gill and Joel “Joey” Gill, both of Winchester, Virginia; one niece; five nephews, and two brothers. He is preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, 2:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with The Rev. Dr. James A. Hewitt, III officiating. Interment will be private.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Omps, Amherst Chapel.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Dave. When mom became very ill last month Dave called several times a day to check in and see if Dad or any of us needed anything. He had been a good friend to my Dad and our family and will be missed. My deepest sympathy goes out to the family for your loss.

Words are poor things when we suffer such a loss but you are in our thoughts and prayers. We enjoyed all the times we spent with Dave over the years as he carefully restored so many of our family mementos, worked on our renovation projects and helped us with so many little jobs…..always with a smile.
