Darshana Mayank Mehta, 50, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Friday, December 28th, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones. She passed exactly 29 years to the date of meeting her beloved husband Mayank S. Mehta, whom she married February 20th, 1990. Together they proudly raised two sons, Saheel and Shivam.
She was born September 9th, 1968 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, daughter to Kantilal and Nilam Parekh. She received her Bachelor and Master of Commerce from R.A. Podar College and the University of Bombay, respectively. She fondly remembered her childhood experience of trekking across her mother country. In the States, she worked tirelessly in lock-step with Mayank and family building successful property management, hospitality, service, and real estate businesses.
Darshana loved to love people. She always made everyone around her feel like family. She was a dedicated mother not only to her sons but her nieces and nephews whom she also regarded as her children. Her vibrant personality would light up every room she entered and could not go unnoticed. She brought a comforting and exciting atmosphere to all who stepped foot into her home.
She built a lasting legacy as a master chef. Those who know her well counted on her to always carry hot sauce to ensure food was fiery hot. At Vraj Youth Camp community in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania, she was known as “Kitchen-in-Charge” volunteering her time to create the menu for thousands of children throughout the years. As a dedicated volunteer, she affected the lives of countless people with her kindness, compassion, and sharing of her culture.
Darshana always lived in the moment and made sure to capture every memory. For any occasion, big or small, she would insist on taking pictures and videos, especially when her family was together. All of the cherished memories we have with Darshana have been captured upon her insistence, and for that, we are eternally grateful. Nothing made her happier than sharing her life with her loved ones, thankfully she was able to do so in her final days.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend. Her memories and the love she instilled into those who were close to her will carry on.
Jai Shree Krishna. Ram Ram. Love you. Goodnight.
