Daniel L. Kremer
Daniel Lee Kremer, age 92, of Winchester, VA, died Friday, December 17, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Kremer was an automobile mechanic, and was owner/operator of Dan Kremer and Sons. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Mountain View, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was a member of the UCT, the Woodmen of the World, the Apple Dumpling Gang, The Antique Automobile Club of America and the Senior Bowling League.
He was preceded in death on October 12, 1960, by his first wife, Elsie Pitcock Kremer, whom he married in 1942. His second wife, Dorothy Larrick Kremer, whom he married in 1970, died on January 27, 1989, and his third wife, Marrian Davis Kremer, whom he married in 1992, died on December 21, 2009.
Surviving are two daughters, Joyce Allen, and her husband, Jerry, of Winchester, and Margaret Powell, also of Winchester; two sons, Gerald Kremer and his wife, Sandy, of Martinsburg, WV, and James Kremer and his wife, Diana, of Winchester; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren, and a sister, Gertrude Ryder and her husband, Don, of Williamsport, MD. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Francis Cole and Mattie McCarty.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Reverend Chris Straley officiating. Military Honors will be afforded by VFW Post 2123, and interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Mac McCauley, Darrell Feltner, Bill Pugh, Ray Marple, Walter “Skeeter” Knee, Steven Kremer.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Hudnall, Melvin Anderson, Donnie Kerns, Bob Pierce, Rick Jackson.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
