Daniel Glenn Emerson
Daniel Glenn Emerson, age 49, of Winchester, Virginia, died Thursday, September 29, 2011, at his residence.
Daniel was born in 1962, in Torrance, California, the son of Everett Emerson and Mary R. Leidecker. He was the President of Johnny Blue, Inc. of Winchester, Virginia for over 27 years of dedicated service. Dan was a passionate man who was devoted to his family, friends and his work.
He married Judy Potter on February 14, 1991, in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are three daughters, Kristen Bush and husband, Steven of Winchester, Virginia, Amy Kerns and husband, Brock, of Strasburg, Virginia, and Sarah Emerson of Winchester, Virginia; two sisters, Debbie Goode and husband, John, of Stephenson, Virginia and Dona Norwood and husband, Geoff, of Queensland, Australia. Dan is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews and a large extended family including many close friends.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Diane Hall; and step-father Edward Leidecker.
A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at 11:00 AM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Mr. David Owings officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Donovan Poland, Mark Jones, John Goode, Jr., Michael Goode, Matthew Robertson, Brock Kerns,and Steven Bush, Jr. Honorary pallbearer is Michael Snapp.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
