D. Maxine Milburn, 91, of Winchester, Virginia passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Evergreen Health & Rehab.
Mrs. Milburn was born in 1927 in Frederick County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Marvin and Ollie Grove. She graduated from Gainesboro High School. Mrs. Milburn was the secretary and bookkeeper with Milburn Typewriter Company and employed in the past at Solenbergers, Montgomery Wards, and Sears. She was a member of Women of the Moose in Winchester and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Milburn enjoyed gardening and was an amazing cook. She attended Montague Avenue United Methodist Church.
Her husband, William Leo Milburn, preceded her in death in 1977.
Surviving is a daughter, Jenny Jo McKown of Frederick County, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Louise Milburn of Winchester, Virginia; grandchildren, Jason and Jeb Milburn of Blacksburg, Virginia, Aarika Butts of Star Tannery, Virginia, Jodi Milburn of Winchester, Virginia, and Devin Ray McKown of Frederick County, Virginia; great granddaughter, Natalie Butts of Star Tannery, Virginia; and brothers, Amiel “Buck” Grove of Virginia and Ronald Grove (Shirley) of Frederick County, Virginia.
Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. Milburn was preceded in death by a son, Steven Lee Milburn.
All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
