Curtis L. Bright, Sr.
Curtis Louis Bright, Sr., 81, of Stephens City, Virginia, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012, in a local nursing facility.
Mr. Bright was born in 1930, in Morgantown, West Virginia, the son of the late John Harvey and Anna Bright. He was a Die Setter with General Motors retiring in 1974. Mr. Bright was a member of the NRA, Heritage Foundation and Hillsdale College. He was a Veteran having served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He married Elsie Elaine Weibl on May 7, 1955 in Monnesson, Pennsylvania
Surviving with his wife are four sons, Curtis L., Bright, Jr., and his wife, Cindy, of Cross Junction, Tim Bright and his wife, Barbara, of Markham, Eugene Bright and wife, Vicki, of Houston, Texas, Patrick Bright of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Valerie, Tyler, Lindsey, Patrick, Felecia and Melissa; and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Judy Ashby and Florence Dyer; and 3 brothers, Bill Bright, Maynard Bright, Jim Bright. He was preceded in death by a brother, Chuck Bright.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be private. Military honors will be afforded by VFW Post 2123.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, prior to the service, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
