Conard W. DeHaven, Jr., 85 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.
Connie was born in 1940 in Gainesboro, VA the son of the late Conard Washington DeHaven, Sr., and Iva Lavale (Crowe) DeHaven. He was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1959, after graduation he went to work at O’Sullivan’s. Connie also attended New Holland Mechanic School and received multiple mechanical degrees and certifications. He retired in 1997 as a mechanic at Winchester Equipment Company. Connie grew up in a farming family and returned to farming full time after he retired. He was renowned for his welding skills and was sought after by not just his employer, but by others in the community for his skills.
To the Winchester community: “Be Careful, it’s a jungle out there” and “don’t let them pick on you for your ponytail.”
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Rebecca DeHaven whom he married on January 20, 1962; daughter, Lynette Stotler of Frederick County, VA; son, Steven DeHaven (Michelle Ethridge) of Frederick County, VA; grandson, Denton Stotler of Martinsburg, WV and great-grandchildren, Brayden Stotler and Paisley Stotler both of Martinsburg, WV.
In addition to his parents, Connie is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Downes.
