Ronald Stoessell left a message on May 12, 2021:
Dear Clay - I have never met you or Jimbo but I grew up n Crowley and knew your grandparents Jim and Beth very well. We did a lot of hunting and fishing with them, and I still have the old wooden runabout boat that we got from them and used for fishing and for hunting at Money Island near Rockerfeller Refuge. I think of that bear paw that Jim had in their house and the good meals that Beth would serve and the stories of being a student at LSU and working as a sugar engineer in Cuba. Beth was an inspiration after Jim died, serving as Crowley Mayor. They were fine people and good friends. I only wish they were still around.

Dear Clay - I’m saddened by your dad’s death and offer my condolences to you. I lost my connection with him several years ago but, as you and I are few surviving members of his Louisiana family, I do want to be in touch with you. If you read this message please let me know how to reach you. The funeral home has my email address. Your cousin, Bob Barnett
Nancy Barber left a message on January 29, 2020:
Dear Clay, Our hearts are sorrowful at the news of your dad’s passing. Our families have been friends since long before I was born and stayed close over the years. I will never forget going to visit Jim and Pickle in Winchester and he made me a lavish lunch basket to take on my travels when I left-sandwiches, fruit, chips, water, cookies. I felt so spoiled! He will be missed! Thinking of you at this difficult time.... The Barber Family
