Clyde Miller, Jr., 86, of Winchester, Virginia passed away Friday, September 15, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Miller was born in 1931 in Frederick County, Virginia, the son of the late Alice L. and Clyde Miller, Sr. He retired from Henkel Harris in 1996. Mr. Miller was a member of the Winchester Moose #1283 and Fraternal Order of Eagles #824. He enjoyed hunting, going to Charles Town Racetrack, and playing country music. Moody played the accordion and was one of the original members of the Kountry Krackers, playing the bass and singing with his wonderful voice. He was definitely a Dodge car man.
Mr. Miller married Rebecca A. Greene on July 15, 1962 in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Surviving with his loving wife of 55 years are daughters, Shelvy Largent and husband, Max and Gail Barton and husband, John; sister, Nancy M. Lambert and husband, Ray; brothers, Allen “Buddy” Miller and William M. Miller and wife, Faye; five grandchildren; and many loving great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was a sister-in-law, Patricia L. Miller.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 pm to 7:30 pm on Wednesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. A Memorial Service will follow at 7:30 pm with Associate Pastor Craig Whitacre of Wesleyn Fellowship Church officiating. Interment will be private.
