Clyde Lee Turner, 80, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Turner was born in 1937 in Beckley, West Virginia, the son of the late Sam and Maud Turner. He was a graduate of Morris Harvey College in Charleston, West Virginia, Class of 1960 where he earned a degree in Business Administration. Mr. Turner settled in Virginia with his family. He received a 97.7 on the state of Virginia CPA exam and began working as an accountant for the state of Virginia. He was a veteran of the United States Army and the Reserves where he was a Field Artillery Crewman from 1961 to 1967. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and will be missed by all. He attended Sunnyside Presbyterian Church. He will be remembered the most for his constant gratitude and everlasting optimism.
Surviving are his daughters, Mary Frances Turner of Winchester, Virginia and Kay Lee Turner (Gregory Peiper) of Oak Hill, Virginia; son, Samuel Charles Turner of Front Royal, Virginia; grandchildren, Solange, Julian, and Lucas Pantoja and Bryce and Wyatt Peiper; and son-in-law, Fernando Pantoja.
Mr. Turner was preceded in death by a sister, Carole Turner.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Reverend Ronald Potter officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, Virginia.
Serving as pallbearers will be Sam Turner, Lucas Pantoja, Bryce Peiper, Wyatt Peiper, Richard Vance, and Fernando Pantoja. Honorary pallbearer will be Julian Pantoja.
